About a year-and-a-half ago, we started The Llewellyn Journal with nothing but a plan, a web design, and a few articles. Since that time, The Llewellyn Journal has vastly expanded. We've posted articles and email from people all over the world; some from famous authors, and some from people who are not famous, but who have had life-changing experiences to share, including what they did to get that experience.
Thanks to you, The Llewellyn Journal has grown. It took almost a year to reach 50,000 hits to our site. It took less than half that time to double it. As far as I can tell, that exponential rise will continue as we expand with your support and your help.
Our goal remains the same: to bring you, for free, fascinating articles about how people changed their lives, combined with occasional interviews and comments.
I am an Aries, and one of the typical indicators of an Aries is someone who likes to get things going. In that sense, although I had a great deal of help from everyone one from the head of Llewellyn to people providing technical support, I always thought of The Llewellyn Journal as "my baby." But there comes a time when parents have to let their babies go and develop on their own. And so, although I have helped to give birth and start this wonderful thing, it is time for both of us, the "baby" and me, to grow in different directions.
Let me take this opportunity to introduce to you the new editor of The Llewellyn Journal, Phyllis Galde. Phyllis is a wonderful, talented, and skilled woman, and we have worked together on many projects in the past, including my book, Modern Magick, The Llewellyn New Times, F.A.T.E. magazine, and more. In fact, Phyllis now owns F.A.T.E., and if you're not reading it regularly, you should. You may also like her book, Crystal Healing: The Next Step. I have no doubt that she will not only continue on the path that The Llewellyn Journal has started, but take it to new heights and in exciting, new directions. I hope you will give her your support just as you have supported me.
And speaking of yours truly, what will happen to me? I've not gone far! At the request of Llewellyn I'm moving over to become the new editor for Llewellyn's New Worlds. This is Llewellyn's free magazine and catalog which you can get mailed to you at no charge by filling out the form.
In the coming months Llewellyn's New Worlds will be more important to you than ever before. It will have more articles than ever. In my first issue alone there will be eight articles by famous authors, several columns on everything from magick and astrology to Wicca and Tarot and a new one on health and healing. And there will be more fun changes to come. I think--I know--you're going to like it.
And please look for my new book, Tarot & Magic, at your local bookstore or online. It's quite different from anything you may have seen before. Although it gives examples of rituals and spells, the main focus is to help you understand how to do real, life-changing magic with the Tarot and develop your own spells, rites and rituals. In the past, the Tarot has helped hundreds of thousands of people learn what the future may hold. But how do you ensure that something good will happen or prevent something bad from occurring? The answers are in Tarot & Magic.
I also give lectures around the U.S. I'll be giving some in California early in 2003, and more in other locations. You can find out where I'll be giving lectures by looking in New Worlds. You'll also find where your favorite authors and writers will be appearing. It is our goal to make Llewellyn's New Worlds an important resource for the community, providing practical and vital information for everyone.
In conclusion, I'd like to thank you all for staying with me and The Llewellyn Journal. Please follow me to New Worlds and continue supporting Phyllis Galde here.
The best is yet to come!
